The Shakra

$175.00

The Shakra is based off the Joe Davisson Shocktave, one of the original analog sub octave effects. This is a crazy fuzz. Closely related to the MXR Blue Box, this one is nasty, unforgiving and tracks fairly well for what it is. But its imperfections and unpredictability are what make it so special and unique. This effect is monophonic, which means it does not handle chords well, so for best results, single note riffs are your friend with this one. The single gain control is more like a texture control, with a softer attack on one end, and more volume and aggressive on the other. For a more pronounced octave down effect, try using your neck pickup with the tone on your guitar rolled back and placing it first in your pedal chain. Built with top quality components, metal film resistors, Neutrik or Switchcraft jacks, a Gorva Design soft click footswitch and a custom designed PCB. Does not require a battery and operates of a standard 9v center negative power supply.
