The Rocktavia
$175.00
I based the Rocktavia off the Roger Mayer Octavia circuit, made popular by the one and only Jimi Hendrix. One of the first, if not the very first, analog octave up pedals ever made. Unlike your beloved POG that uses digital circuitry to achieve its magic, analog octave is a different beast all together, using diodes to achieve its octave effect. With analog octave you get a little grit, like a mild fuzz. It also works best when using your neck pickup while rolling back the tone on your guitar. This helps bring out the octave up effect. Because of this quirk, I've placed a treble bleed capacitor at the input of this circuit to simulate tone roll off, thereby making a more pronounced octave effect without you having to mess with your tone control, although rolling it off can still help make the effect jump out. Place your favorite fuzz before or after the Rocktavia to turn any fuzz box into an octave fuzz. Like most all of my effects, the Rocktavie works best when being closest to your guitars pickups, so for best reults place first in your pedal chain. The single knob is a gain control. Built with top quality components, metal film resistors, Neutrik or Switchcraft jacks, a Gorva Design soft click footswitch and a custom designed PCB. Does not require a battery and operates off a standard 9v center negative power supply.
