The Cloud Clipper
$265.00
This one is based off a rare circuit I discovered called the Red Fuzz. It's an op amp based distortion/fuzz that roughly shares some circuit design with the mighty Proco Rat. Though not the same as a Rat, the Red Fuzz used two soft clipping LED's to achieve a less compressed feel than its hard clipping counterpart. This made for a less fuzzy, more distortion like tone that's less aggressive and more versatile. With the Rat Killer, I give you the option to choose between 6 different soft clipping diodes. All the way to the left, in position one, you have symmetrical clipping. In position two you have asymmetrical clipping. Position three gives you asymmetrical mosfet transistor clipping (my personal favorite). Position four is the standard red LED clipping for the original circuit. Position five is blue LED's, and position six removes all clipping diodes to give you straight op amp clipping for the loudest, most open setting. You'll notice as you dial the rotary switch to the right, you'll get less compression and more overall headroom. I have also added a fat switch for adding more bass to the circuit to get you closer to fuzz territory. Built with top quality components, metal film resistors, Alpha potentiometers, Neutrik or Switchcraft jacks, a Gorva Design soft click footswitch and a custom designed PCB. Does not require a battery and operates off a standard 9v center negative power supply.
