The Mechanic
$275.00
The Foxx Tone Machine was one of the first octave fuzzes ever created, using jfet transistors and hard clipping silicon diodes to achieve its aggressive sound. With The Mechanic, I've made a few tweaks, allowing for a significant amount more of output volume, a thicker bass response and put the diode clipping on a potentiometer for some unique clipping options. Turning the clipping knob to the right, you get asymmetrical silicon diodes for a more compressed saturation. Turning it to the left gives you symmetrical germanium diodes for a softer, more open feel. Set this knob to 12 o'clock and you get a mix of both clipping arrangements. Also with tone, gain and volume controls. Built with top quality components, metal film resistors, Neutrik or Switchcraft jacks, a Gorva Design soft click footswitch and a custom designed PCB. Does not require a battery and operates off a standard 9v center negative power supply.
