The Hosstone

$265.00

The original Jordan Bosstone's were tiny, plastic enclosures that plugged directly into your guitar jack. The earliest version was called the "California" and used two silicon hard clipping diodes. The later version was slightly different in topology, resulting in a smoother, more mid focused tone, which would eventually be adopted by Nashville pedal steel players, making it known as the "Nashville" version. The Hosstone gives you both. The California side is harsher and more compressed, with secret sub octave tones. Using the three way bass switch and bias control can help you make the sub octaves more apparent, though they are subtle. The three way clipping switch can help you determine the amount of overall compression and headroom, allowing you to select between germanium or silicon diodes, and the bias knob can give you gated, sputtery decay on some settings. Overall, a very versatile fuzz that can border on overdrive and distortion at the turn of a knob. Handmade using top quality components and hardware in Louisville, Ky. Pedal requires standard center negative 9v power supply and does not take a battery.
